hi everyone,
Here's a little hello, my name is tobias, I've been an addict for 10 years,
etc .. ok, ok: I'm a writer, techno-turntablist and sound/net.artist as well
as curator currently based in Montreal. My theoretical work focuses on the
politics of sound, anarchism, the flesh and new media. I write both
academically and in alternative publications. I come out of independent
media from Vancouver, BC and saw the formation of the first Indymedia
centres as an indie journalist at CiTR, the campus/community radio station
at UBC which was involved in breaking the stories over APEC '97, the runner
up to Seattle WTO. I still write the Panarticon politics column for
Discorder out there. I come out of an anarcho-rave scene politics as well
and this informs much of my practice. I was recently *at* N5M and have been on
the periphery of the Locative group dealing with new advances in
geo-locationism and psychogeography; I was also handing out Capital
magazines, an alternative arts/street/politics mag I write for. More, blog,
etc: http://www.quadrantcrossing.org
Hopefully this isn't too self-congratulatory .. I didn't want to send the
Official Version etc.
best, tobias
