Assignment for Oct 27:

Pick one of the following subjects and prepare a 20 minute group
presentation on one of them.
All group members receive the same
grade for the group presentation.
Make sure you time your presentations
to be 20 minutes in length (find material to show, sites to look at, and more).
All group members need to be involved in the presentation. Prepare your presentation
reflecting on the qualities of a good presentation. Does the speaker present slowly and
project his/ her voice clearly? Prepare lecture notes and additional visual material
(ie. Power Point file). How do you divide up different parts of the presentation
within the group? Make an effort not to use self-depricating language and repeat important
information.

You can add your own material after consulting with me. These materials will become
parts of your web publication.

    You could also review the required book for class:

  • Interview with media artists (UB faculty)

    Here you could write a 500 word texts about Steven Vitiello's
    presentation last week or Tim Lenoir's web streamed presentation next week.

    Otherwise, suggest faculty members who you know will respond to your
    approach. As a group you need to interview at least 2 faculty with
    each interview being at least 500 words in length.
